Job Description

• The Computer Teacher is responsible for teaching students digital literacy, computer skills, and the effective use of technology.
• The teacher will equip students with practical and theoretical knowledge needed to function confidently in a technology driven world.

 

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver ICT lessons in line with the school curriculum
• Teach basic and advanced computer skills such as typing, use of applications, and internet usage
• Introduce students to software tools such as word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
• Teach responsible and safe use of technology and the internet
• Support students in developing problem solving and critical thinking skills using technology
• Set classwork, assignments, and assessments to evaluate students’ progress
• Maintain discipline and ensure effective classroom management
• Manage and maintain computer systems and ensure proper use of ICT equipment
• Report technical issues and liaise with appropriate personnel for repairs
• Keep accurate records of students’ performance and progress
• Support school activities that involve technology, such as CBT exams or presentations.

 

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Teaching qualification or certification is an added advantage
• 2 to 3 years teaching experience (preferred)
  Strong knowledge of computer systems, software applications, and basic networking
• Ability to teach both theory and practical lessons effectively.
