Job Description
The Senior Accountant at Charles Ardor & Company is responsible for overseeing financial accounting processes and providing expert guidance to a diverse client base. This role requires in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The Senior Accountant will work collaboratively with a team to ensure clients receive accurate, timely, and comprehensive accounting services.
Senior Accountant Duties:
Client Engagement:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with multiple clients.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing financial inquiries and offering expert advice.
Financial Accounting:
- Oversee the financial accounting process for clients, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Prepare and review general ledger entries and reconciliations.
Financial Reporting:
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for clients, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide in-depth financial analysis and insights to support clients’ decision-making.
Regulatory Compliance: - Ensure that clients’ financial records comply with local, state, and federal regulations and accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of necessary tax documents and filings.
Client Financial Planning:
- Collaborate with clients to develop financial forecasts and budgets.
- Provide guidance on cost reduction strategies, revenue enhancement, and financial goal achievement.
Supervision and Mentorship: - Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff within the firm.
- Review and approve work performed by team members.
Problem Resolution:
- Investigate and resolve complex accounting issues, discrepancies, and irregularities.
Assist clients with financial questions and concerns. - Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain organized and complete records of financial transactions, audit trails, and client communication.
Continual Professional Development:
- Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.
Seek opportunities to improve internal accounting processes and systems.
Senior Accountant Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is a plus.
- Substantial experience as an accountant, (5 years, post-NYSC)preferably in an outsourced accounting or similar environment.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Xero) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, tax regulations, and compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, including the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and clients simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients and internal stakeholders remotely.
- Ability to lead and work collaboratively in a team.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
